Broadcasting Software

Using a broadcasting software can in improve your show in a number of ways. It can also make it easier for you. When I’m broadcasting, I use a simple and easy to use software called Manycam. You can download a trial version for free from here: http://manycam.com/

(I do highly recommend the paid version though) Manycam isn’t the only software available. There are tons of programs, free and paid. But it is the most simple one to use and with the best features in my opinion. You don’t need a fancy or complicated setup.

Scammers and Freeloaders

Below is a list of behavior common to that of someone trying to scam or freeload from you. Beware of these individuals and know how to handle the situation. I recommend a simple and quick ban to avoid drama in the room. I like to explain the ban before the scammer has a chance to try and make it seem like everything was my fault.

Shaving Tips

Ever have problems shaving your lady bits? You shave one day and the very next you have stubble again. You and I both know that the HD cam is not forgiving on "5 o'clock" shadow either. If you are as picky as I am sometimes you will attempt to shave again. The second day in a row typically results in some painful razor rash or cuts and nicks. I've learned a few tricks to stay smooth that don't involve an awkward waxing either.

Taxes

Taxes? Say what? Too many models think that the camming industry is like waitressing. Just pocket most of your tips and if you have to turn them in, lie about it. False! As a webcam model you are contracted by a host site (unless you work for yourself) and that makes you an independent contractor. The government tracks your finances just like every independent plumber, builder, or photographer. You are your own boss and you are now responsible for your own taxes. No, most sites do not automatically take them out.

Basic Safety

Choosing to be a webcam model can be dangerous. You would think you are safe in the comfort of your own home, but you're not. Your safety can be compromised in a number of ways. As an attractive person with a massive audience you will eventually bump into a crazy one. Sometimes these people can be physically dangerous and other times emotionally dangerous or threatening.

If you want your personal identity to remain unknown, you should follow some basic guidelines.

Your First Night

If you have been camming before then you know what to do. It's all virtually the same, just learning the new sites layout. However, if you are a first time model this night is crucial! Some sites offer special promotions to new broadcasters or returning ones. Your chatroom will be bolded, highlighted, or saying "NEW", and you could be listed in a special filter. Beware, this tag does not last long and you need to make the most use of it.
